Carter Travel Co. proudly support Newmedica and their patients

The partnership between Carter Travel Co and Newmedica Hampshire is going from strength to strength.

Newmedica is a leading provider of NHS funded and private Ophthalmology services. With a network of eye clinics and surgical centres across England, they are dedicated to helping people protect their sight, so they can get back to doing what they love. Everything they do is guided by a commitment to deliver personal patient care.

Newmedica Hampshire is working with the Government of Jersey to help accelerate the waiting time for residents who require cataract surgery. As a result, patients are flown from Jersey and Guernsey to Southampton on a weekly basis to have their surgery conducted at the Newmedica Hampshire eye clinic. To make the process as seamless and customer focussed as possible, patients are transported from Southampton Airport to Newmedica Hampshire early in the morning, then to an airport-based hotel following their surgery, then back to Newmedica Hampshire the following day for a final check-up prior to flying back to Jersey or Guernsey that evening.

Murray Carter, Managing Director of Carter Travel Co met with the Newmedica Hampshire Operations Director, Chris Berry, to gain a clear understanding of the transport requirements. A plan was agreed and swiftly implemented in August 2024 and the partnership is progressing extremely well.

Since the commencement of the transport solution, volumes have steadily increased due to additional flights from the Channel Islands and Carter Travel Co is also supporting Newmedica Hampshire with mainland patient transfers to and from Chichester, Bognor, Selsey and the New Forest.

With circa 150 passenger movements and 320 miles per week, the partnership between Carter Travel Co and Newmedica Hampshire is going from strength to strength.
